Synopsis: Natalie, Haley and Vanessa star in the latest teen blockbuster film. It is rumored that the three don’t get along. All three young actresses vehemently denied the claims, and can’t see why the media just can’t leave them alone. But it is true. The young women can’t stand each other, and will do anything to get back at each other. Beverly, Loreen and Trish all work in a hairdressing salon in Texas. The three spend their time cutting hair, gossiping and fighting with each other. Shirley, Gloria and Betty are three elderly ladies living in a retirement village in Boca Raton. They spend their final days on earth fighting with each other over the minutest details. One thing they all have in common. They are sisters. “Three sisters” tells the universal story of feuding sisters. At all stages through their lives (birth, career, marriage, parenthood and death) sisters are there when they need each other and there when they can’t stand each other.

What the press would say:

In the styles of Robert Altman and Alejandro González Iñárritu, Alexander Payne weaves three universal stories of sisterhood into one triumphant piece of cinema”

“Not in recent times has there been such an established ensemble cast.”

“Two thumbs up”-Roger Ebert

“Alexander Payne returns with three stories right on the mark of human existence”
